eventshoch2 – Fair Stand for GEL at the Transport Logistic 2013

GEL Express Logistik GmbH, Willich, Germany

The Transport Logistic is the world's largest fair for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management. It takes place every 2 years on the grounds of the Messe München. With about 53,000 visitors and 2,013 exhibitors, the transport logistic 2013 broke all the records of the fair from 2011 (51,310 visitors, 1,893 exhibitors). The rise in the number of international exhibitors (45%) and of international visitors (40%) clearly points up the importance which this fair has for the whole sector globally. Consequently, leading figures from politics and industry were just as much in evidence as well as almost all the prestigious companies in the logistics industry.

Of course, this very important industry meeting point would not be complete without GEL Express Logistik GmbH from Willich. As one of the leading express freight partnerships in Germany, GEL specializes in very special transport goods. This means, in particular, that GEL ensures that highly fragile packaging items arrive safely at their destination, that time-critical deliveries reach the customer within an exactly planned time frame (“just in time”), and that bulky and heavy goods for private individuals are delivered directly to the house door – even if located in a difficult-to-reach spot.

For the fist time, these special qualities were to be implemented at the fair in the form of an appealing and representative fair stand. Our event agency from Dresden was therefore commissioned with the development of a concept and of an idea for the construction of the stand, as well as with the implementation of the fair presentation. In conjunction with our trade fair builders, architects and decorators, we developed creative, elegant and, at the same time, practical ideas, to present the client GEL and its range of services in an optimal way over 30 square meters.

In addition to the striking choice of colors in red and white, the sculptural representation of the key services in the form of imposing pillars was implemented as a central element. The columns “fragile”, “critical of the times”, and “B2C” symbolized here the pillars on which the GEL company stands. Particularly eye-catching in this context was the red illuminated “fragile” pillar, consisting of real glasses which were individually stacked one on top another and glued together in the interior of the pillars with painstaking attention to detail, and which astonished the visitors and attracted them to the stand.

The rest of the stand, along with its furnishings, was kept stylish, clear and minimalistic, in tune with the goal of attending the fair, which was, on the one hand, to stand out from the surrounding stands with the high-quality presence of the stand, and, on the other, to attract the attention of the fair visitors to the essential performance points of GEL.

According to the client's feedback, the participation in the fair was a complete success! The fair stand attracted many interested specialist visitors and it provided opportunities for many stimulating conversations with the team at the stand. The coming months will show how much extra business and what increase in name recognition the fair presentation has actually been able to generate.
