This year once again, numerous enthusiastic fans of classic cars and the proud owners of automotive works of art from all over the world renewed their acquaintance with each other at the Concorso d'Eleganza 2013 in the grounds of the luxury hotel Villa d'Este at Lake Como in north Italy. As one of the most significant classic car events in the world since 1929, the Concorso d'Eleganza gathers together in one place not only connoisseurs and lovers of these wickedly expensive vehicles but also celebrities, stars and starlets from the worlds of film and television, as well as business tycoons, supermodels and other well-known faces who make their way every year to the small location of Cernobbio in order to be part of this event.

As one of the main sponsors of the event, A. Lange & Söhne was once again in attendance this year. The 90 VIP guests invited by the watch manufacturer were able to get to know Italy from its most attractive side with all the attractions of the Concorso over a whole weekend. Whether it was a gala dinner with the star chef Gualtiero Marchesi in a villa with special festive decor for the occasion, personally driving a classic car along the promenade of Lake Como, gliding over the lake in one of the speedy Riva boats, examining all the new products within the framework of a watch exhibition, or viewing the Villa Carlotta Botanical Garden – our guests were provided with a wide range of various and pleasant activities so that they were able to fully enjoy their stay in Italy.

The main attraction of the weekend was naturally the parade of the classic cars and the subsequent award ceremony in the d'Este for the most beautiful vehicle. A. Lange & Söhne sponsored the highly valued prize for the winner of the most important category – “Best of Show” – with the LANGE 1 ZEITZONE CONCORSO EDITION. This watch was elaborately furnished with a hand-worked Concorso engraving on the reverse side especially for this occasion and is therefore a wholly unique piece. This year, the celebrated winner was the fashion guru Ralph Lauren with his Bugatti 57 SC Atlantic Coupé from 1938.

According to their own feedback, the guests of A. Lange & Söhne felt that they had been looked after excellently during their stay and very much enjoyed this exclusive weekend at Lake Como. And so the Concorso d'Eleganza 2013 in the Villa d'Este will long remain a cherished memory in the guests' minds.
