eventshoch2 - 25 Years BHS Bau- und Handelsgruppe GmbH & Co. KG
BHS Bau- und Handelsgruppe GmbH & Co. KG, Dresden, Germany
If you ask car drivers from all over the world what the best thing about Germany is, you will mostly get this answer – the highways without a speed limit. It is just these highways and other transport routes that the BHS Bau- und Handelsgruppe GmbH & Co. KG builds – along with their subcontractors. The BHS Group provides the entire value-creation chain for road construction from the removal of stone, to the production of asphalt, to transport and to civil engineering and road construction. Providing asphalting services from one supplier.
Additionally, the BHS is also a leader in the market with special innovations such as the semi-mobile construction material recycling sieve SBR 2. It is not therefore surprising that for 25 years this company has constantly been developing itself and now, in 2015, wanted to duly celebrate this anniversary with approximately 500 specialists and management and invited guests.
Our event agency eventshoch2 was given the responsibility for designing, planning and implementing this important and – at the same time – largest event in the company history of the BHS. We developed a unique, creative and progressive decoration and show concept. A backdrop reminiscent of a highway construction site was to be set up over an area of about 5,200 m² in the Messe Dresden using more than 40 tons of decoration material and stage equipment.
After almost 9 months of preparation time for planning and design, and many days spent on construction work in the decoration workshops, the day finally arrived. Our crew of more than 50 technicians, decorators and stagehands worked for a total of four days round the clock to finally bring this idea to life in the Messe Dresden.
At the same time, the “stars” of this backdrop were the investment and innovative power of the BHS – their impressive construction machines. These were placed prominently in the fair hall and were integrated into a stunt and action show specially designed for this event. The performers in the show were professional stuntmen, who take the fall for screen stars in Hollywood productions such as “Captain America” or “The Hunger Games”. Acrobatic freestyle motocross jumps just a hair away from the spectators, complicated somersaults over obstacles, film-worthy chase and battle scenes, and loud fire explosions brought forth great excitement, amazed faces and thunderous applause from the guests. The whole event was appropriately framed with high-quality, appetizing delicacies as well as with atmospheric live music which provided an invitation to dance against the imposing backdrop.
The relaxed celebration took place over two days with a total of more than 670 guests, employees and their families. Our event agency was responsible for the entire event design and event production, as well as for some of the BHS media work, the invitation design and the film production of an employee film for the company and its subsidiaries. And even today, when driving by a highway construction site, we still look back fondly on this great event…
